How do I make an appointment?
Our office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please call Phone Number: 619-460-6200 to request an appointment. The following information will be requested of you when you make the appointment: Your name, type of insurance you have, referring doctor and a brief description of why you need this appointment.
How do I prepare for my office appointment?
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to fill out the appropriate paperwork. If you would like to fill out the form prior to you visit, please go to the section βPatient Formsβ and print out βNew Patient Forms.β Bring with you the following items: name of referring physician, insurance card, current list of your medications and doses, and any pertinent vascular imaging reports or records you may have.
How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
Please give us 48 hours notification for any changes or cancellations. Missed appointments or same-day revisions are subject to a cancellation fee.
How do I contact my doctor after hours?
In case of an emergency, you may call Phone Number: 619-460-6200 our office phone number 24 hours a day year round. If you feel there is a need to contact us, please do not hesitate to do so. We have a physician on call that will address any problems you may encounter.
After an angiogram or endovascular procedure, when will I know the results of the study?
On many occasions you will receive the results immediately after your procedure is completed. In any case you will have a follow-up appointment in the office a couple of weeks after your procedure. Your doctor will discuss his findings with you and together you will plan your next step. There will be plenty of time allotted for questions and explanations.
If I have to have surgery, how long will my surgery take?
Most surgeries take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. The length depends on many factors, such as the type of surgery, the complexity of the case and so on. Your physician will be able to give you an estimate of how long your particular surgery will be.
What is the difference between vascular surgery and endovascular therapy?
Endovascular therapy is a minimally invasive form of treatment for many vascular diseases. Most of the procedures can be done while you are awake, under local anesthesia, and using a simple puncture into either an artery or vein (usually the groin). The majority of these procedures are done on an outpatient basis. Vascular surgery is used when endovascular therapy is not an option. The surgical procedure require an incision, in many cases general anesthesia, and you will most likely spend at least one night in the hospital.
What is an Endovascular Specialist?
An endovascular specialist is a vascular surgeon who specializes in the complete care of the vascular patient. The first step is the identification of the patients? disease process and severity. Second is the diagnostic workup utilizing a combination of non-invasive tests, such as, duplex ultrasound, pressure measurements, and the use of conventional angiography to image the arterial and venous system. Finally, the endovascular specialist can treat the vascular problem with, either a percutaneous procedure, such as, angioplasty and stenting or a surgical procedure.
